 FAQs

  • Travel insurance often doesn’t cross many peoples minds when booking a Fly-Fishing guided trip, but it is highly recommended!

Purchasing travel Insurance before a forever planned trip is a great way to safeguard one’s precious time, money, and labor involved towards a trip from unforeseen circumstances. Not only is it relatively cheap to the total cost of ones special trip, but it can allow one to keep there non-refundable payment towards there guided fishing trip, accommodations, and possibly flights if an emergency were to come up.

There are many companies that will insure your special lifetime trip, but IMG Travel Insurance is the one we recommend, provided by The Global Rescue network.

  • Gratuity is NOT included in the original trip costs. Standard gratuity is 20-25% of the total trip costs.

    Float Trip - $150 / Jet Boat - $200

  • Half day and Full day pricing are the same.

The operating costs of a guided day trip does not change based on time on the water. If one is unsure about the amount of time they want to spend on the water, typically we will leave the clients vehicle at the midway boat ramp on a day float just in case there is a need to get off the water sooner rather than later.

  • We do not accommodate 3 people for one boat.

Having three people in a boat is a liability, impedes fishing, and maneuverability of the boat. However, we do accommodate a 3rd additional person on a wade fishing only trip for $200 in addition to a normal day trip price.

  • Our guides do not provide alcohol for liability reasons.

We want you as a customer to enjoy the experience and the service provided. One may bring alcohol along their experience if they are drinking responsibly, and if the container is NOT glass. Our guides reserve the right to prohibit the consumption of alcohol if deemed necessary.

  • Fishing licenses are not included in the standard trip costs.

Our guides will check for your fishing license before getting on the water, as we are liable if you dont have a fishing license. There is a link to purchase a fishing license on the home page and HERE.

  • Please be honest to us and make any acknowledgements of one’s food allergies / health restrictions to the outfitter or guide while in the process of booking a fishing trip.

We serve you as the customer and want to exceed your expectations for the experience. Having health restrictions or limitations will NOT impede the quality of one’s fishing experience. We accommodate all types of customers and best do so when we have a complete understanding of the situation and circumstance.

  • We recommend wearing wet wading type shoes for the peak season in the summer. Wet wading shoes include Chacos, Tevas, Tabis, and neoprene socks and wading boots.

Alternatively, waders are a good idea to bring in the shoulder seasons because the weather can turn quick, and it can be an additional layer for warmth.

We frequently get in and out of the boat to work fishy holes and runs regardless of the season. As a result, we ask NO felt or spikes if one is wearing wading boots because spikes damage the boat, aquatic invasive muscle species can hide in felt, and certain areas prohibit felt style wading boots.

  • Our minimum age is 6 years old for our guided services.

  • Bringing personal fishing gear is more than welcome.

An advantage to bringing your own personal fishing gear is that you know it better than anyone and it is customized to how you like to fish, especially if one is left-handed.

Although, our guides have specific setups that are tailored to the water they will be taking you too and the rig drastically changes based on the style of fly fishing or where you are fishing. It may be to benefit to use the guides pre rigged setup, so one spends more time fishing rather than spending that time making your own setup work.

  • The type of boat one will be in varies on the location they are fishing, water flows, and guide preference.

Typically, float trips hosted out of Missoula, MT will be in a raft and float trips hosted out of Helena and Bozeman, MT will be out of a drift boat.

  • Pets are NOT allowed, unless if it is a service animal and is pre-approved by the outfitter and guide.

Please leave your pet at home if you have the chance. We want your full attention and for you to get the most out of your experience.
